Shift:                            3rd 9:00pm – 5:00am

 SUMMARY 

 Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers by performing the following duties:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs set up and adjustments of machines.
  • Interprets specifications and job orders to department associates and assigns duties.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and solves work problems, or assists department associates in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate associates to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Conduct accident investigations.
  • Provide orientation and training for new employees.
  • Ensure acceptable attendance levels are maintained.
  • Communicate with quality department to ensue consistent application of quality requirements.
  • Comply with requirements as outlined in the company handbook and OSHA.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Practice good housekeeping.
  • Other duties that may be assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Lead department personnel in the production of quality assemblies in a safe, efficient manner. Responsible for the assigned associates within the production department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include but not limited to; training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability to successfully perform the job.

  • Education and/or experience

 Four-year degree in related field preferred; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, demonstrated record of success/ability.

  • Language Skills

 Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general operating instructions, production schedules, quality requirements, etc.

  • Mathematical Skills

 Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

  • Reasoning Ability

 Ability to solve practical problems. Required to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  •  Certificate, Licenses, Registrations

 None required for the essential duties of the job

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand / walk, reaching with hands and arms.   Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
